1 Formatting suggestions for next year

Celsius/Fahrenheit
Given that we are in the U.S., I think next year we should change all of (or most of) the Celsius measurements throughout the book to Fahrenheit. Exception, of course, to scientific applications where everyone uses Celsius. The use of celsius is unintuitive for an American. Or, perhaps even better: we create a small lesson in the book that helps mold student intuition on this topic. – Dorothy Dickmann
How about a macro that lets the user choose whether to display F or C, or popup the other temperature scale. 37°C

Units for quantities in math expressions
The exposition should be careful to adhere to the quantity framework (i.e., numbers and units throughout). For example, the exposition includes: “We accomplish this by setting q_0 = 1969.5, so that the full input transformation expression, a(q-q_0), takes on the value zero when q_0 = 1969.5.” We should say, “…q_0 = 1969.5 yr…” and …“takes on the numerical value zero when q_0 = 1969.5 yr…”) – Dave Ruth
Maybe we can find a compact way to include the units with a quantity like 1969.5 yr that doesn’t disrupt the traditional spacing of mathematical expressions. Like this? \[\stackrel{\text{yr}}{1969.5}\] Just an idea. - DTK
