Getting Ready for the Workshop

In the workshop you will need …

• A laptop or tablet with keyboard. (A few loaner machines will be available for those who are having difficulty with bringing their own machine.)
  • You’ll need a reasonably up-to-date browser, particularly if you are bringing a Windows machine.
• Some thought given to a lesson from your existing course that you would like to update to make use of real data.
• Perhaps an idea for a particular dataset you would like to bring in to your course. Something of local relevance? Something of special interest to you?

You will not need to do advance preparation for the workshop other than the above. In particular,

• you do not need to learn R ahead of the workshop
• you do not need to install any software (but make sure you have a browser)

Nonetheless, feel free to glance through the workshop materials.
